Booking & Stay

What time is check-in and check-out at Chateau Granville?

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in may be available between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM based on room readiness — call the front desk at +1-604-669-7070 the morning of arrival to ask. Late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability and a $50 fee. For guests arriving before check-in, we hold luggage at the front desk at no charge so you can start exploring downtown Vancouver. The hotel is staffed 24 hours a day; late arrivals are welcomed provided a credit card is on file.

What's your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or change your reservation you must do so with 24-48 hours' notice of your arrival, depending on the season. Please note, cancellation policies can vary depending on where the reservation was made. We recommend reading the cancellation terms before booking, especially during peak season (May through September). To cancel a reservation, call us directly at +1-604-669-7070 or use the cancellation link in the confirmation email from Best Western. Please record the cancellation number you will be given for your own records.

What payment methods do you accept?

A valid credit card is required to secure your hotel reservation. Please be advised that credit cards will be pre-authorized at check-in for the approximate value of your stay, including an estimate for incidental charges. A damage deposit of CAD $200.00 per stay is required on arrival. If we are unable to secure authorization on the credit card, the hotel reserves the right to cancel the reservation. Upon departure, you may pay by credit card, cash, or Best Western Travel Card. At checkout, the final amount of your invoice will be charged to your credit card. If the pre-authorized amount is greater than the bill total, the release of excess of funds held will be at the discretion of the credit card company.

Is breakfast included with my stay?

Breakfast is not included with standard room rates but can be added to most bookings. The Edge Social Grille & Lounge serves breakfast on-site daily from 7 AM to 11 AM, with à la carte ordering and a continental option. Some packages and Best Western Rewards Elite tiers include breakfast — check your booking confirmation for inclusion. Several cafés and breakfast spots are within a five-minute walk on Granville Street and in Yaletown for guests who prefer to eat off-property.

Can I get a higher floor or city-view room?

Yes — guests can request a higher-floor room or specific view at booking or check-in, and we'll honor it where possible. Our King Superior View and Queen Superior View rooms are specifically located on the 14th and 15th floors with downtown Vancouver views toward Yaletown and the harbour. Requests are honored based on availability; we cannot guarantee a specific room number.

Do you offer rooms for extended stays?

Is parking available, and how much does it cost?

Yes. Chateau Granville offers underground gated parking at $33+tax per night for hotel guests, including in-and-out privileges during your stay. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed during high-occupancy periods (peak summer, holidays, major BC Place events). EV charging stations are available in the parking facility. For guests staying for cruises departing from Canada Place, ask about our cruise-stay parking arrangement — leave your vehicle at the hotel during your sailing. Public street parking on Granville Street is metered and not recommended for overnight stays.

Cruise & Airport Logistics

Can I leave my car at Chateau Granville while I'm on my Alaska cruise?

Yes — guests sailing on Alaska cruises from Canada Place can arrange to leave their vehicle in our underground parking during the cruise. The rate is $33+tax per day. Reservation in advance is required since space is limited during peak cruise season (May through September). On disembarkation day, you can return to retrieve your vehicle and use the room for the day if booking a post-cruise stay. Call +1-604-669-7070 at least seven days before sailing to arrange.

What time should I leave Chateau Granville for my cruise embarkation?

Most Alaska cruises board between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, with a recommended arrival window of 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Canada Place. Allow 15 minutes for the drive from Chateau Granville to the cruise terminal, plus 10-15 minutes for traffic and drop-off variation, and an additional 30 minutes if you're handling your own luggage. We recommend leaving the hotel by 11:00 AM for an afternoon sailing. Check your specific cruise line's boarding window on your boarding documents — Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival, and Disney all sail from Vancouver during Alaska season and each has slightly different procedures.

Will Chateau Granville hold my luggage during my cruise or after disembarkation?

Yes. The front desk holds luggage at no charge for hotel guests both before check-in and after check-out. For cruise-related luggage holds: pre-cruise guests can leave luggage with us if checking out on embarkation morning. Post-cruise guests arriving from Canada Place can leave luggage upon arrival and explore Vancouver before check-in. We are unable to hold luggage for non-guests or for periods exceeding 24 hours.

What's the best way to get from Chateau Granville to Canada Place for a cruise?

The fastest option is taxi or ride share — 7 minutes by car for $15-20 CAD. Three to four guests with luggage can comfortably share one taxi or a standard ride share (UberX, Lyft Standard). For larger groups or families with extensive luggage, ride share XL accommodates 5-7 passengers. Public transit involves Canada Line SkyTrain from Yaletown-Roundhouse to Waterfront Station, plus a five-minute walk — total trip about 20 minutes, but managing luggage on transit may be difficult. We do not run a complimentary cruise shuttle. Book your taxi or ride share for 11:00 AM if your cruise boards at 1:00 PM.

What can I do in Vancouver after disembarking from my cruise?

After disembarking at Canada Place (typically between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM), Vancouver offers half-day and full-day options before flights. With four hours: walk Stanley Park's Seawall, visit Granville Island Public Market via False Creek Aquabus, or explore Gastown's historic district. With eight hours: add Capilano Suspension Bridge Park (30-minute drive), Grouse Mountain skyride, or the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. Chateau Granville is well-positioned for post-cruise day-use because we're closer than waterfront hotels to Granville Island, Yaletown, and the central downtown attractions. We can hold luggage and offer day-use rooms on availability — call +1-604-669-7070 to arrange.

Toiletries are eco-conscious refillable bottles in larger format rather than individual bottles.

Are rooms quiet, given the Granville Street location?

Granville Street is one of Vancouver's busier nightlife streets, particularly Friday and Saturday nights. Lower-floor rooms facing Granville may experience nightlife sounds until approximately 2:00 AM on weekends. All windows at Chateau Granville are double-paned, and curtains reduce sound levels considerably. All rooms have earplugs available free of charge.

Is there an EV charger on site?

Yes. Chateau Granville has 4 electric vehicle charging stations in the underground parking facility, available to overnight parking guests at $33+tax per day.

Pets, Family & Accessibility

Do you allow pets? What's the policy and fee?

Yes — Chateau Granville welcomes well-behaved dogs in designated pet-friendly rooms. The pet fee is $40 CAD per night. Maximum two dogs per room. We do not currently accept cats or other pets. Pets must be leashed in all public areas of the hotel including hallways, the lobby, and outdoor spaces. The Edge restaurant does not permit pets except certified service animals. Stanley Park and the False Creek Seawall provide nearby leashed-dog walking. Service animals are always welcomed at no fee in any room, in accordance with Canadian accessibility law. If a dog is left alone in a guest room and the owner cannot be located, the dog will then be removed to another location and a $25.00 per hour pet sitting fee will be assessed.

Is the hotel accessible for guests with mobility needs?

Chateau Granville offers 2 ADA-compliant accessible rooms with roll-in showers, grab bars, and lowered countertops. Public areas including the lobby, The Edge restaurant, fitness centre, and meeting spaces are wheelchair-accessible. Elevators serve all 12 occupied floors.
