Chateau Granville sits at 1100 Granville Street, 2.0 km from the Canada Place cruise terminal — a 7-minute drive, a 10-minute SkyTrain ride, or a 26-minute walk.

Vancouver is a homeport rather than a port of call: nearly every sailing here begins and ends at Canada Place, so most passengers need a room the night before, the night after, or both. All 118 rooms are a short ride from the terminal, and the one-bedroom suites sleep up to five.

Embarkation-day timing

Most Alaska sailings board between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, with a recommended arrival window of 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Canada Place. Allow 15 minutes for the drive, another 10 to 15 for traffic and drop-off, and 30 more if you are handling your own luggage. We recommend leaving the hotel by 11:00 AM for an afternoon sailing. Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival and Disney all sail from Vancouver during Alaska season, and each line's boarding procedure differs — check your boarding documents for the specific window.

Luggage storage

The front desk holds luggage at no charge for hotel guests, both before check-in and after check-out. Guests sailing out can check out on embarkation morning and leave their bags with us until it is time to go. Guests arriving off a ship can drop luggage on arrival and explore the city before the room is ready. We are unable to hold luggage for non-guests, or for longer than 24 hours.

Park and cruise

Leave your vehicle in our underground gated parking while you sail, at $45 tax inclusive per day. Space is limited during peak cruise season from May through September, so reservations must be arranged in advance — call +1-604-669-7070 at least seven days before sailing. On disembarkation day you can collect the vehicle and use a room for the day if you have booked a post-cruise stay.

Concierge

Our concierge handles restaurant recommendations and reservations, transportation, tickets to a show, and day trips around the city. Either side of a sailing you are working to a fixed window, and it is usually faster to have the details arranged than researched. We do not operate a complimentary cruise shuttle; the front desk will book a taxi or ride share for your departure time.

After your cruise

Ships disembark at Canada Place between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, well before most afternoon flights. With four hours you can walk Stanley Park's seawall, take the False Creek Aquabus to Granville Island Public Market, or explore Gastown. With eight, add Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, the Grouse Mountain skyride, or the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. Day-use rooms are available on request, subject to availability.

Vancouver's 2026 cruise season

Alaska season runs from April through October. 2026 is a record year at Canada Place: the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority expects more than 1.4 million passengers across roughly 360 ship calls, up from 1.2 million and 301 calls in 2025. July alone is forecast near 290,000 passengers, the busiest single month the terminal has recorded, with August close behind. Downtown fills on turnaround weekends, so book early.
