Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-05

This Cookie Policy explains how the Best Western Premier Chateau Granville Hotel & Suites ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar storage technologies on this Site. It complements our Privacy Policy, which describes the personal information we collect more broadly.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site remember information about your visit — for example, your preferences — so it can work properly the next time you come back. Some sites also use related technologies such as localStorage, which stores data in your browser similarly to a cookie. For simplicity, we refer to all of these as "cookies" throughout this policy.

Cookies are either first-party (set by this Site directly) or third-party (set by another service we use, such as Google Analytics). They expire after a defined period — either when you close your browser, or after a set duration we describe below.

How we use cookies

We group cookies into three categories. Only the first is active by default. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in our cookie banner. Marketing cookies are not used today; the category is described here for transparency and will be re-introduced into the consent flow if and when we add advertising tools.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the Site to function and to remember your cookie preferences. They are always active and cannot be turned off. They do not store any personally identifiable information.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages visitors look at, where traffic comes from, and how the Site performs. This helps us improve content and fix problems. The data is aggregated — we cannot identify individual visitors from it.

Analytics is off by default. You choose whether to opt in via the cookie banner. We do not use analytics data for advertising, profile-building, or third-party sharing beyond Google itself. Until you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics may still send a small "cookieless ping" that contributes to anonymous, aggregate counts under its Consent Mode feature; no cookies are written to your browser in this state.

Marketing

We do not currently run advertising pixels or marketing cookies. If we add marketing cookies in the future, we will update this policy and re-prompt you for consent through the cookie banner before activating them.

Cookies we use

The full list of cookies and similar storage in use today:

Name Provider Purpose Duration Category
cg_consent_v1 This Site (first-party, localStorage) Stores your cookie preferences so we can honour them on subsequent visits. 13 months Strictly necessary
_ga Google Analytics 4 (first-party) Distinguishes unique visitors so we can count repeat versus new visits. 2 years Analytics
_ga_SPBPZL0RHP Google Analytics 4 (first-party) Maintains session and campaign state for our specific GA4 property. 2 years Analytics

The two analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_SPBPZL0RHP) are written by Google Analytics' gtag.js script only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you decline, neither cookie is set.

Your choices

You can change your cookie preferences at any time:

  • Click to change the preferences on this site.
  • Clear cookies through your browser to reset your stored preference. Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely or on a per-site basis — consult your browser's support pages (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) for instructions.
  • Install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data across all sites you visit, not just ours.

Declining or clearing cookies will not prevent you from using the Site. The booking buttons, contact form, meetings inquiry form, and all other functionality work the same way whether or not you have accepted cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we add, remove, or change cookies we use, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is material — for example, adding marketing or third-party advertising cookies — we will re-prompt you for consent through the cookie banner before activating the new category.
